Freelance Writer

Spread the love

Description

Are you eager to share your financial expertise with the world?

Do you love using your knowledge and communication skills to help people face their financial challenges head-on?

Can you ELI5 even the most complex financial topics so they’re easily understandable to people with zero financial experience?

Can you breathe life into dry topics like loan rates and terms?

Then you’re going to love writing with LendEDU.

We want every LendEDU article to be the best possible answer to a specific financial question that people are asking online. Our writers are 100% focused on creating content that’s genuinely helpful and interesting to our readers.

What it’s like to write with LendEDU

We’ve done our best to create a smooth, simple editorial process that allows freelance writers to create world-class content and get any editorial support they need along the way.

  • Our editors will assign you a proposed workload ahead of each month that specifies the article’s working title, proposed due date, and type of work planned for each assignment.
  • You’ll create brand new articles, as well as rewrite and add new content to existing articles. (Your name will appear in the byline for each new article and any article where you’ve created the majority of the content.)
  • Editors will share detailed outlines with a target word count for each article one week before the due date.
  • An editor will review your work, providing feedback and requesting revisions as needed.
  • Editors provide in-depth feedback to our freelance writers (especially in the first several months after onboarding) to ensure that all content meets our quality standards and to help you grow as a writer.
  • You’ll work entirely in Google Docs for content creation, revisions, and communication with the editing team. (But it’s ideal if you’re comfortable working in WordPress too, in case that changes in the future.)

About you

  • 1+ years writing experience. Experience with financial writing and SEO preferred.
  • 2+ years of professional experience with one or more of our key financial topics. (Student loans, personal finance, gold IRA, tax relief, etc.)
  • Available to write 2 – 8 articles per month. (1,000 – 1,500 words on average)
  • Open to constructive feedback and willing to make requested revisions within 1-3 business days.
  • Strong command of the English language (native or fluent). Excellent grammar, style, and clarity. Personality that shines through your words.
  • Able to conduct thorough research, source data correctly, and present complex information in a friendly, accessible way.
  • Precision and accuracy are second nature to you—no chance we’ll find incorrect data or untrue statements in your writing.
  • Keen eye for detail. Your writing is proofread and ready to publish, free of typos and basic style issues.
  • Respectful of due dates, and communicative when there are issues and roadblocks.
