INTEGRATED MARKETING SPECIALIST

Summary

The Wikimedia Foundation is looking for an Integrated Marketing Specialist to join our team, reporting to the Senior Manager of Integrated Marketing. 

As the Integrated Marketing Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing global, multi-channel marketing campaigns, from objective-setting to evaluation, including campaign and messaging strategy, media and budget planning, as well as reporting. In this role, you will also coordinate and facilitate goals between multiple teams to advance better collaboration processes and build connected plans that aim at increasing brand recognition and understanding of Wikimedia work.

You are responsible for:

  • The planning, development, and execution of marketing campaigns, including ensuring the campaign’s smooth and timely launch, achieving project milestones, keeping campaigns on budget, and problem-solving any roadblocks.
  • Building and managing paid media plans for marketing campaigns, including identifying data-driven objectives, setting clear KPIs, segmenting audiences, and defining the campaign’s channel mix.
  • Leading or contributing to integrated marketing initiatives with a focus on strengthening collaboration processes between teams and advancing alignment around goals and expected outcomes. 
  • Overseeing paid media execution, optimizations, reporting, and recommendations.
  • Ensuring that all marketing campaigns and assets developed demonstrate a consistent brand voice and visual style that reflects the Wikipedia/ Wikimedia mission and brand guidelines.
  • Building strong, ongoing working relationships with and managing agency partners (e.g. marketing, creative, digital, media) to support evergreen and campaign work.
  • Working closely with Project Management teams to build collaborative workflows and streamlined processes for marketing projects.
  • Collaborating with different teams across the Wikimedia Foundation (e.g. Product, Advancement, Partnerships, Brand Studio, Community Growth) to develop innovative programs and drive global growth and engagement.
  • Reporting and analyzing the results of all marketing initiatives, recommending marketing optimizations, and building baselines and best practices to inform future marketing and campaign work.
  • Staying on top of emerging practices, themes, stories, and trends in global Marketing.
  • Employing best practices for cultural inclusivity while building marketing campaigns, in order to reflect multiple perspectives.

Skills and Experience:

  • 5-8 years relevant professional experience in Marketing and/or Communications.
  • Experience managing marketing/communications campaigns across channels, with a particular expertise in digital media.
  • Expertise in developing, executing, and optimizing paid media plans.
  • Ability to effectively manage stakeholders across multiple levels and functions, including strong communication and problem-solving skills, to ensure alignment with project goals and foster positive relationships. 
  • Good knowledge of the creative development process, coupled with practical experience in managing (internal or external) creative and production teams.

  • Experience with marketing in a global context, partnering with globally diverse vendors, and engaging diverse international audiences.
  • Experience in running marketing campaigns within emerging markets.

The Wikimedia Foundation is a remote-first organization with staff members including contractors based 40+ countries*. Salaries at the Wikimedia Foundation are set in a way that is competitive, equitable, and consistent with our values and culture. The anticipated annual pay range of this position for applicants based within the United States is US$71,488  to US$109,383 with multiple individualized factors, including cost of living in the location, being the determinants of the offered pay. For applicants located outside of the US, the pay range will be adjusted to the country of hire. We neither ask for nor take into consideration the salary history of applicants. The compensation for a successful applicant will be based on their skills, experience and location.
